Critical Perspectives on Taiwan

Critical Perspectives on Taiwan responds to the urgent need to rethink the foundation of Taiwan studies given the rapidly evolving status of Taiwan as an object of inquiry. To encourage a more nuanced understanding of Taiwan’s vibrant cultural dynamics, this series solicits books that stress transnational connections, interdisciplinary methodologies, critical theoretical insights, digital media and literacy, and the capacity of self-critique. Moving across interregional, native, modern, and postcolonial contexts, this series expands the study of Taiwan beyond its typical geocultural confines. Works that pursue innovative conceptual and empirical research engaging Taiwan with debates in global theory and politics are especially welcome.
